Typically located in the foyer of a cinema, lobby cards were an artistic alternative to movie posters showcasing multiple elements of a film to build excitement and draw in an audience. Over the years, the standard became sets of cards as few as four and up to fifteen, featuring stills of an upcoming film. The cards date back to the year 1908 and were most popular in the 1940s through the 1960s.
